Microsilica

MICROFUME MS Grade 85 is dry silica fume available in two main forms: • Undensified – 85 U, with a typical bulk density of 200 -350 kg/m3 • Densified – 85 D, with a typical bulk density of 600 –750 kg/m3

MICROFUME MS is an ultrafine powder, and is light to dark grey in color. It is a co-product from the silicon or ferrosilicon industry and is rich in silicon-di-oxide (SiO2). When added in concrete MICROFUME MS improves the characteristics of concrete in two ways. Firstly due to its pozzolanic nature, chemically reacts with the Calcium Hydroxide leached out during the cement hydration leading to the increase in the amount of calcium silicate hydrate gel, thus improving the strength of the concrete dramatically. Secondly, MICROFUME MS being an ultrafine material, physically fills the voids between cement particles making the concrete dense.
